The past two weeks has been the most hectic since the lockdown started. As restrictions are starting to ease, we are preparing for what our new normal will be like in the next couple of months.
Heinel is doing his Kumon online worksheets. Submission is through taking photos of answer sheets and sending it to his teacher through Viber. He also has weekly online consultations with her.
We have also been reading different primers from schools on their online programs for the upcoming school year. Heinel will be an incoming Junior High student. With the current health and safety risk brought about by the pandemic, school is expected to resume by August. Government has issued some guidelines on how schools should operate but each school has its own strategy and methodologies. We are leaning towards schools that offers online learning for the possibility of the whole school year. We are weighing our options based on the best interest of Heinel. We will make our final decision in June, in time for enrollment.
Hendrix on the other hand, started his online Occupational Therapy sessions. It was quite an adjustment at first (setting up the therapy area and good camera angles) but on the second week, we have somehow settled in. By next week, after discussions on safety measures with his therapist, we will also resume his home Physical therapy classes.
Work (from home for now) also continues for me. It was a whole new challenge when all these new schedule of the kids going on but just like in anything, practice makes everything manageable. I am always thankful that despite the current situation, I have a job and doing what i like professionally, while being able to attend to my children. It is a blessing I am constantly reminding myself not to take for granted.
Life goes on as they say. It will not be easy, as I am still worrying about the health and safety of our family. We are taking it one day at a time. Testing the waters as they say.
