My love for organizing is no secret by now. I just love it when everything is neatly arranged and that every member of our family can easily find what they need.
Today, I am taking with you to process on how I organize our snacks and breakfast pantry. This is not really overly cluttered, however, I feel that it still needs a little tweak to make it even more accessible to everyone.
Below is a summary of helpful tips which you can also follow:
- This pantry is located in our dining area, so it is convenient for us especially in the mornings when things are more hectic.
- Items are grouped; 1st shelf for snacks and noodles, 2nd shelf for drinks such as coffee, tea, milk and juices, 3rd shelf are breakfast food such as oats and cereals and the bottom shelf are unopened supplies.
- label is life.
- Follow the first-in first out inventory method wherein the ones nearest expiration dates are in front so it will be consumed first.
- The items in shelves 1 to 3 are fast moving, thus we no longer put expiration labels. However if you will be storing slow moving ones like flour or noodles, always take note of its expiration dates.
- Baskets aside from being very functional, also adds texture especially if it is in open shelves or glass cabinet like ours. However, you can also use repurposed containers.
