It took a while and we may be far behind our Asian counterparts, but finally vaccination roll out in the Philippines is steadily moving.
Before the covid vaccine happened, the concept of travelling was more of a dream. It seems uncertain as to when it can happen again. Social feeds are all about the #takemeback, all of us wanting to experience the high of being in a new place; trying out different activities and being served with delicious food.
Now, as we see more and more people getting vaccinated, we find ourselves making plans, at least in our heads; maybe a local destination in the coming months? Beach weekend maybe? Will we able to resume our plans to go to Japan? the US? to Europe? The idea of going out of our homes does not seem too foreign anymore.
Having pondered on this, I realized that for me personally, vaccine is the first step to freedom. For more than a year, we were confined and restricted in our homes, to the point wherein we kind of got used to it. Having the vaccine around somehow reminded me of the life that we use to have; freely going about without a fear of something unseen. The idea of being able to get together with family and friends excite us even more.
There is indeed light at the end of this long tunnel that we are in. Slowly but surely, we are getting there. The world will relaunch soon.
