Nativity set is finally out which means, Christmas season officially begins in our home!
Christmas is my favorite holiday. Every year I look forward to everything related to it; putting up the tree, gift ideas, Advent masses, get togethers. I grew up in a Christmas-loving family wherein gift-giving is taken seriously. We always try to outdo each other’s gifts. This is the reason why I also love buying ang wrapping presents. I try to personalize each gift; choosing something will fit the receiver’s personality.
The Nativity perfectly represents why I love this holiday. I love how it is about family and people you hold dear in your heart. It is about love, humility, and togetherness. Most of all I love how it is and will always be about Jesus. With everything that is happening around us now, this year’s celebration will not be the same. We may not fulfill some traditions that we usually have. Some changes have to be made. Yes, it will be different but it can be made even more special, more meaningful and more intimate.
One change i made this year is to source out Christmas decors and gifts from local suppliers and small businesses whom I personally believe in. I am a believer that second to buying from them, giving out their products as gifts is a great way to help them grow their reach. Our Belen is by Knitting Expedition. All their products are handknitted with love by moms who also plant in the rice terraces in Ifugao. I have a personal liking to all things made by hand. I can’t help but play with these cuties.
Times might be different, but now more than ever, it is the time to appreciate the Reason for the Season.
