Lent in the Midst of A Pandemic

It has been our little family’s  Holy Week tradition to do Visita Iglesia and Stations of the Cross on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. To complete the Stations, we pray two per Church. In two days, we get to see 7 churches and complete 14 Stations of the Cross. It was a religious, but also educational experience for the kids.

This year is different. This is the second time that we will be missing our Lent tradition (first time was in 2015 when Hendrix was confined in the hospital for dengue), though this time, it is not only is who are staying in. Faith finds a way. Despite being at home, we continued our prayers of the Stations of the Cross as a family and even get to go on Visita Iglesia through a visual reality tour. It is a great reminder to us that, despite the circumstances,  faith should remain strong. Now more than ever, unity in prayer is needed. Being in this isolation is the perfect time to reflect and ponder on our spiritual life.
