Little Tidbits About our Beatles Inspired Wedding

This month, we celebrate our church wedding anniversary. It is always nice to look back on that day. Here are some little tidbits about our wedding:

Prenup

Ours is not a standard prenuptial photos. Each scene depicts our personality; it is us showing what we both love to do which is playing the guitar for Daddy S, and reading books for me. In fact the books and guitar used in prenup was our own. Even in our formal photo, we always find ways to make it fun. I guess that is us as a couple.

The Beatles Theme

Daddy S and I have different music genres; he’s into rock and I am into pop but one thing that we both like are the songs by the Beatles. It was actually through him that I got to appreciate their brand of music. I wanted our wedding to be both a reflection of our personalities so I figured it is the best theme.

Invitation = Yellow Submarine

The graphics for our invitation is  was inspired by the cover of the Album “Yellow Submarine”.

Thanks to our wonderful creative artist, she was able to incorporate it in our invites. It provided a hint of our wedding colors yellow-red-orange. These colors are present in entourage outfit, flowers, cake and even my shoes!

Ceremony

Our Ceremony venue, a Church in my hometown, is our only choice. It is said to be miraculous and several healing masses are held their. I like it because despite being located at a busy highway, once you get inside the church, it is suddenly silent; like all the noise from the outside are tuned out. It is always cool inside even on summer. I guess these are the mysteries of this church. And most of all, it has a long aisle which is one thing that I really like on weddings.

All About the Gown

From the very start, I already know what I want for my gown. It was actually inspired by Lea Salonga’s wedding gown made by the one and only Monique Lhuillier.

Instead of having a long train, I want to have a long veil. I want two different looks for the ceremony and the reception without actually changing the dress so I opted for two lace tops. I want it simple and reflects my personality. No beads and crystals. I just want a beautiful fabric for the main gown and the highest quality of lace for my covers.  When I visited my couturier, I already knew what I want. it was an easy process. She just made it come to life and added two belts too that will match the top. it was beautiful!

The Reception

In keeping up with our theme, all the song selections in our reception are from the Beatles. Orchestra version of the songs were played during cocktails while original versions were played while dinner is on-going.

The table names are all Beatles related and includes some facts and information about it.Each table name is Beatles related and e has some information about it. Oh and can you spot those cute dolls with the groom on Beatles inspired hair and outfit?

Overall, it was a successful event. It was not a perfect wedding. There are definitely mishaps somewhere (which I never found out! haha!) but in the end, we got what we wanted, which is for our marriage to be blessed, and best of all, we get to celebrate it with people who matters to us. So to Daddy S, happy anniversary and cheers to more years of blissful marriage!
