Following With All Your Heart

Was there an instance in your life wherein you felt like you were being lead to a certain decision? Yung hindi mo din alam kung bakit pero parang may nagsasabi sa iyo na dun ka dapat?

Allow me to share a story on that.
A year ago, for Hendrix’s annual birthday project, we bought more than a hundred copies of Filipino-written story books to be donated to public schools through Books for A Cause. Without knowing why, I found myself keeping several copies of it. Even when we were moving houses and giving away several books and toys, I still held on to these. Every now and then, when I see it in Hendrix’s shelf, I am wondering why I kept it. Hendrix has his own set, so it really doesn’t make much sense to keep duplicate copies.

Fast forward to today, I realized that it was the Lord telling me to hold on to these books. Just like what He does in our previous birthday projects, He lead us to Hendrix’s beneficiary this year which is a halfway house for kids with cancer. The center is small in size and houses only about 12 to 14 kids at a time (+1 guardian for each), which is just the same number as these books on hand.

The center’s wishlist doesn’t even include toys and books, as it is mostly essential goods such as medicine, food, household supplies. But as I was making my checklist, I felt the Lord really whisper in my ear to add the books. The stories are about kindness, courage and bravery, just what the kids need to inspire them while undergoing chemotherapy.

I can’t help but be in awe on how wonderful The Lord just speaks and guides us in every aspect of our lives. Mapamaliit o malaking bagay, if you just listen to His voice, hindi ka mawawala. When I looked back, ang dami ng ganitong scenario sa buhay namin; that the Lord guided us into making certain decisions, some of it unpopular to others. Even Hendrix’s birthday project was not something that we planned on doing annually, but the Lord guided us year after year. He leads us in each and every aspect of it.
If ever you are in a crossroad in your life, i pray that you find discernment in prayer. In the silence of your heart, try to listen and feel where the Lord is guiding you to. Sometimes His answer might be scary, uncomfortable or maybe does not seem to make sense, but if you put your whole trust in Him, you will never go wrong. Believe in Him. Trust in His Divine plan. Let Him surprise you.
