My Teen Is Fully Vaccinated!

My teen is fully vaccinated! Hear my half-sigh of relief!

We had been living in our own bubble for almost two years now; not dining out, not attending live masses inside the church, not travelling even locally. We often joke how our home restrictions and protocols are more strict than those imposed by our government. It was only through this worldwide shutdown that we realized that both Sherwin and I haven’t gotten over our trauma over our youngest son’s series of long hospitalizations in the past, hence our extreme fear over this virus. I also understood now why even before the pandemic, I was already germophobic, and seemingly have an endless supply and need of sanitizers and disinfectant wipes. This also explains why we find the smell of isopropyl alcohol, nostalgic and therapeutic. The thought of hospitalization gives us the shudders.

We are thankful to family and friends who remained understanding on our decision not to  attend gatherings, or accept visitors. Recently, with the adults in our household being fully vaccinated, we are gradually easing in to our social lives. But it is a really slow process. I still get really anxious over the idea of us dining out.

My full sigh of relief is reserved when Hendrix gets his vaccination.  We’re almost there. We waited for almost two years for the outside world freedom, I believe we can wait a few more months.🙏
