Highlights of My Year 2014

2014 turned out to be a pretty good year for me and my family. As we close this year and welcome 2015, I give you the highlight of 12 months that passed. Time does run fast!

A year of health and wellness

IMG_1330[1]It is in February this year when I started a life changing goal and that is to have a healthy lifestyle (read about my post here), as against my previous goals which focuses on wanting to be thin and skinny. I have learned to accept the truths about my body and it made me appreciate it more. With two kids and a husband, I realized that my goal should be to stay healthy so I can take care of them for a very very long time. Living a healthy lifestyle everyday is not easy. It is a decision and a commitment that I renew every day. Almost a year now and I am still right on track. Sometimes all you really need is assessment of goals.

Proud Sister Indeed

My youngest (and still I consider my baby sister) graduated from college this March with a degree in Fine Arts. Me and my brother sent her to school and my constant prayer was for her to finish her degree. Well, she gave us that plus a bonus. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in University of Sto. Tomas. Thank you dear sister. I have always been proud of you.

EA gets into Big School

Oh, my first born is growing up. In June, EA started first grade in a new school. It was exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. He is doing great and having so much fun in school. I am thankful to his preschool, Creative Explorers for preparing him for this milestone. He is facing big school with confidence and positivity.

Daddy S becomes CFO

In July this year, my husband, Daddy S, accepted a new and exciting challenge as a Chief Finance Officer of a new company. He is eager to learn and take on his role. Congratulations again my love. So happy for you.

Career Reward

In October, I got promoted at work. It was a reward and a pat on my back. It is definitely a boost on my self-confidence. This has been my second promotion since I joined my company 4 years ago.

Hendrix’s improving health

As my second born gets bigger, his health is also improving. There are definitely some low points like when he was confined to the hospital twice but these were definitely offset by his improving strength and development. He has been doing well in his therapies and even his doctors said that his health has improved a lot.

 Family road trip

December is always a month of family activities. Aside from the Christmas season, we always look forward to our annual road trip. This year we went to Subic and got acquianted with marine animals.  It is always a great bonding moment for the family and an educational one too not just for the kids but to us adults as well.

Nurturing friendships

It is also this year that I strengthened my friendships. At my age, I realized that I do not need a lot of friends but only a few ones whom I can value and treasure for the rest of my life. But in order to keep these friendships, I have to invest time. However, as a mom, this is not easy. I am grateful that I my friends understands this. I make sure that with the time spent it has quality.

With all these wonderful things that happened, I only have nothing but a sincere prayer that 2015 will be as good, or even better than 2014. So cheers to this new year ahead to all of us!
