REVIEW: Stacy’s @ Capitol Greenstreet

Last Sunday we opted for a laid back and relaxed day so we decided to just go out at night to have dinner since it is what the kids look forward to on weekends. We visited back Stacy’s at Capitol Greenstreet. I reviewed them before on their party services, (if you are interested, you can check out my blog post) but this time I want to share our experience as regular dining customer.

Restaurant Ambiance

Stacy’s ambiance is that of the 1940’s and 50’s vibe. It is a family friendly restaurant because it is small yet cozy and has that homey feel.

There are tables outside too for those who wants to dine al fresco.

There is even a little playground which kids can play. They also have little tables and chairs for their little customers.

On the day of our visit, it was, as expected, a full house. But luckily a family who is about to leave offered us their table. I guess it is the ambiance that makes people warm to each other and easily give smiles!

Service

The lady servers are very accommodating and friendly. However, I guess due to the number of diners that day, it took a while to serve our food and provide our requests, like my hot water with lemon drink and their famous popcorn with pretzels (on the house!). The food also took a while to be served. Good thing my kids are preoccupied with these yummy popcorn and treats.

Food

We ordered for the following:

Cream of Wild Mushroom

Very cream and has a generous serving of mushroom. However, it is quite salty so ended up not finishing the bowl.

Bacon & Mushroom Carbonara + Triple Chocolate Milkshake

Big serving. Can be shared by two but good thing Heinel was starving so he was able to finish the pasta. We love how creamy the sauce is plus how generously they poured it over the pasta. Kids like pastas with a lot of sauce!

As for the milkshake it was the biggest hit for night. Stacy’s milkshake is very very good! The milk and chocolate was perfectly mixed and tasty with the just the right sweetness. It is a family favorite and a must try!

Granny’s Picnic Bowl

The meal is composed of garlic rice, marinated beef strips, scrambled egg and mixed vegetables.

The egg is moist and yummy. Vegetables are cooked well. The beef is very tender but a little salty. But it was a good one if eaten with rice. Overall it was a good meal.

Chicken Parmesan with Garlic Pasta

A good meal for chicken lovers like me because it is baked and not fried. The tomato sauce compliments that heft serving of melted Parmesan cheese. Since the chicken can be overwhelming, it is perfect with the oil based pasta. I believe it is slightly oiled because it is not greasy at all, just the way i like it.

Value for Money

The meals at Stacy’s are reasonably priced. Since the serving size is quite big, you can share meals, which is also a good value for your money.

Overall Dining Experience

At the scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I give our dining experience at Stacy’s Capitol Greenstreet an 8. They can do better with the food. I know that since this is not the first time that I dined at Stacy’s and the food was better then. But the ambiance is very very nice and perfect for family dining and service is good.
