Medela Breastpumps Pricelist 2014

A good friend of mine is 7 months pregnant and is scouting for breastpumps that she can use when she gets back to work after giving birth. Of course, having been very satisfied with my Medela, which I used for Little H then (read about my blog here) I recommended getting one for herself. So I emailed Beng, one of the distributors of the Medela House, and she was gracious enough to give me their latest price list!

So happy to know that most of the prices had gone down since the last time I bought, which was in 2012, and there are new products too. So here are the prices of their more popular breastpumps, and some information about the pump:

Freestyle Hand Free – Php19,000

First hand experience on this is it is perfect for working moms like me who expresses milk several times a day at the office.  It has a very good pull resulting to a better milk let down.  The motor is compact but powerful. Since its battery is rechargeable, it can last up to 12 hours. As to it being hands free, it did not work for me. I had to improvise to make it totally hands free.

Swing Maxi Dual Breast Pump – P13,500

Reading the product specifications at Medela website, the features seems very similar with that of the Freestyle. The difference is on the battery life of the motor. Swing’s uses the power of double A batteries for its pump thus its battery life can last only up to 4-6hours. Although of course you can always use the plug in adaptor if you have an option.

Swing Electric Breast Pump (Single) – Php9,500

With the same main features of the Swing Maxi.  But since it is a singe pump, milk experession on both breast will be less faster than expressing it at the same time.

Mini Electric (single) Breastpump – Php5,000

This pump is ideal for occasional milk expressions. Compact and lightweight, and can be used with just one hand.

Harmony, Manual Breast Pump – Php3,000

Manual Breastpump – Php1,800

One of Medela’s popular pump is the Pump in Style (PISA), however, it has already been phased out and was replaced by the Swing Maxi Dual, which is actually more cheaper than the PISA.

Again, these prices are from MedelaMoms, the official distributor of Medela products in the Philippines. Although some products may be available at some local malls, its prices are higher than what Medela Moms offer. As a previous Medela Freestyle user, I really suggest getting the pump from Medela Moms so you can avail of their maintenance and warranty services and, another important thing to consider, you can choose the breastshield which is the perfect fit for you. The breastshields are the ones directly attached to the breast and getting the perfect fit makes a lot of difference. In my case, i find the standard size too small for me which explains why it hurts a lot when I am expressing milk so when I changed the breastshield (I was surprised to know that i have different sizes for left and right) the milk suction felt natural. Plus they have several accessories that will make expressing milk more convenient. To know more about my experience with the service of MedelaMoms, click here.

I hope I was able to help you choose the right Medela pump for you. Which do you like best amd suites your lifestyle.I wish you all the best on your breastfeeding journey.

Hi Yanie. So far, sa Rustans pa lang ako nakakita Medela pumps e. But i think it was just Medela swing. konti lang din ung meron silang products and mas mahal. But you can go check it out pa rin. Another option that I can suggest is mommyfairs. Yung parang sa mga MommyMundo. Lagi kasi nagpaparticipate ang MedelaMoms dun. Usually sa glorietta ang fair nila, baka mas accessible syo.

Congratulations on giving birth to your baby! Mukha ngang mahihirapan ka lumabas for now. But take that opportunity to establish a strong breastfeeding bond with your baby. Mas ok pa rin kasi kung direct latch sya syo all the time. Breastpumps are advisable if you will be spending time away from your baby. Saka tignan mo din, baka mas magwork syo ung manual express. I know some friends kasi na mas maraming milk ang nageextract pag manual express than breastpumps.
