Must Have Shoes for Moms

I love shoes! While some women’s  eyes ogle on bags or jewelry, I tend to get more fascinated with shoes of every shapes, size and color. It can be a statement on its own and it can make or break one’s outfit. I love how a white shirt and jeans can be chic and sophisticated when paired with a high heeled red pumps, or a vintage dress for dinners with friends becomes trendy when worn with a pair of wedges.

Before I had kids, I have cabinets full of different pairs of shoes and since I am on the petite side, most of it are heeled ones, pumps, sandals, stilettos, and clogs.

Now that I have Heinel and Hendrix, it does not mean however, that I have to let go of my shoe fascination. I still go gaga over shoes but this time, my choices are more suitable for “mommy activities” but all the same time still very stylish.  Let me share with you my 5 shoe essentials of a Fashionista mom:

1. Sandals

For hot summer days, sandals are very feet friendly. It is also ideal for Moms who has to be on the go most of the time. It can also be worn with almost anything; shorts, pants, dress and jeans. Go for interesting details and designs to make your flats a standout.

2. Ballet Flats

When it comes to versatility, ballet flats are at par with sandals. Even colored ones like this can be paired with any casual clothing in your closet. I always go for neutral or pastel colors because I find them refreshing to the eyes.

3. Sneakers

I am not very fond of rubber shoes but on bustling days such as Heinel’s family day programs in school or picnic at the park, a pair of sneakers or topsiders will be the perfect foot wear.

4. Lace up Flats

On dressier occasions, like attending a school recital or school recognition days, I am still a busy mom either taking pictures or preparing Heinel’s costume. A pair of lace up flats will be very comfortable to wear and will match a dress or skirt.

5. Wedges

If you feel the need to wear heels or if the occasion calls for it such as attending weddings (like a time when Heinel was part of the entourage as a ring bearer), wedges are ideal to wear than those high heeled stilettos because the later requires more balance and stability. Wedges also give height but it is easier to manage. Kids will be kids so you will never know when they need to go to the wash room or you need chase them around when they suddenly find something interesting.

Shoes can be pretty expensive, you might think. But you can actually buy cheap designer shoes if you know where to look. You might want to check out http://www.tbdress.com/Cheap-Shoes-101913 for amazing deals. It will not burn a hole in your pocket and leave you feeling guilt afterwards.

Comfort need not sacrifice style, that is my motto when it comes to shoes. I may have foregone most of my high heeled shoes, but I replaced it with equally stylish ones that allows me to enjoy Mommy roles while still showing the fashionista in me.

Which among these shoes are your favorite?
